Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” In the changing of the seasons, as it were, perhaps we can think of Lincoln’s hope that we may find the “better angels of our nature.” In doing so, we will live up to the best America has to offer.
