Putnam’s extensive research and staying close to real history, while adding obviously fictional flourishes, made for a serious, fun rendering of history! I would go as far as to say, it was one of my favorite reads of the year, much to my pleasant surprise. More people need to know about Putnam’s book and support it, in my humble opinion.
