
There is beauty in the struggle, not because we seek it out, but because if it is to occur, finding beauty is perhaps the only way to endure it. Frankl, a psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, saw man for who he really was: with the potentiality for the “swine and the saint.” As for him, he had the self-determinism, the freedom and responsibility, to endure.
